Canada/Ottawa: Conair Consumer Products ULC, Woodbridge, Ontario establishment, recalls an estimated 5,040 Home Exclusives branded and PJC branded 4-in-1 Adapter set with USB port from the Canadian marketplace due to meet UL/CSA specifications and consequential risks of fire, burn, injury and property damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves the 4-in-1 Adapter Sets with USB port. The products are blue in colour and include 3 Adapter Plugs, 1 USB plug and a Travel Case.

The brand name, product name, model number, and UPC can be found on the product’s packaging. The model number can also be found on one of the Adapter Plugs, as follows:

• Home Exclusives branded 4-in-1 Adapter Sets with USB port, sold with a model designation of HEAT-650RC and a UPC of 068459203144
• PJC branded 4-in-1 Adapter Sets with USB port, sold with a model designation of PJCAT-650RC and a UPC of 068459168450

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the recalled Adaptors do not meet UL/CSA specification requirements, posing a safety hazard to the health of people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended use. As of August 18, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Power Adapters, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
