SPAR Chicken Tikka Chunks Recall [UK]

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Prepared Chicken Chunks are subject to recall:

• SPAR Chicken Tikka Chunks, 140 gram plastic trays with an opaque purple identification area on the upper potion of their packages and a clear product viewing window below, a use-by date of 19 May 2017 and a UPC/bar code of 501035823355

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, this recall was initiated because the batch/lots of Chicken Tikka Chunks listed above may contain small pieces of glass. If ingested, these fragments could cause injuries to the mouth and gastrointestinal (“GI”) tract and require immediate medical intervention.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chicken Chunks, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
