Logo - Transport CanadaEstimated reading time: seven (7) minutes.

Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 3,198 model year 2020 and 2021 Ford Fusion Sedans marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (“PHEV”), the High-voltage Battery Energy Control Module can become damaged. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the Wheels or the Control Module could overheat.

Logo - Ford CanadaTransport Canada reports a loss of power to the Wheels could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

In addition, a Battery Energy Control Module that overheats can create the risk of a fire with consequential risks of burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury and other serious injury and/or life-changing results.

If you have a crash-related medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Similarly, if you have a fire-related medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.
