Among the fifty-nine (59) recalls the European Union announced in its second report of June 2024, the following recall notification was made:

Tres Jolie per Donna Perfume products, sold with an EAN/barcode of 8004830291609. This recall notification was submitted by Italy to the EU Gateway under alert number A12/01562/24.

These Tres Jolie per Donna Perfume products were marketed, sold and delivered as personal-use fragrance products intended for home application. The recalled cosmetics were reportedly produced in the Italy and sold in light pink colored 100 ml bottles with matching caps and packed in darker pink boxes.

No manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazards identified in the Tres Jolie per Donna Perfume products include the reported finding that the recalled personal care items contain 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (“BMHCA”), a chemical that is forbidden in Cosmetic Products within the European Marketplace.

According to the European Union, the chemical 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (“BMHCA”) poses risks of harm to the reproductive system and the health of the unborn child as well as causing skin sensitisation when used in a reasonable manner expected and consistent with their intended design and anticipated use and therefore, could precipitate serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled Tres Jolie per Donna Perfume products reportedly do not comply with the requirements of Europe’s Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Consequently, a withdrawal recall has been ordered in all European member countries. If encountered, you should use, market, sell or use the recalled fragrances.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Tres Jolie per Donna Perfume products, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly contact the store from which you purchased the product for a refund.

If you have a medical emergency, please contact 1-1-2, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat reproductive and/or developmental system damage.

Please note: 1-1-2 (also written as “112”) is the universal European emergency number you can dial free of charge from fixed and mobile phones anywhere in the EU. It will connect you to the local emergency services including police, ambulance, fire brigade. National emergency numbers are still in use too, alongside 1-1-2. but 1-1-2 is the only number you can use to access the emergency services in all EU countries.
