Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Lao Gan Ma Chilli Oil Recall [Australia]Kambow Wholesaler Pty Ltd, a Dandenong South, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Lao Gan Ma Chilli Oil products due to undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Spiced Chilli Oil products are subject to this recall:

  • Lao Gan Ma Chilli Oil, sold in 280-gram, 275-gram and 210-gram containers with three batch/lot and best-before date configurations:
    • Batch/lot 19062018 with a best-before date code of 181219
    • Batch/lot 19072018 with a best-before date code of 1182018
    • Batch/lot 25042018 with a best-before date code of 24062019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, Kambow Wholesaler has recalled the above batch/lots of Lao Gan Ma Chilli Oil due to undeclared Peanut ingredients.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Lao Gan Ma Chilli Oil products due to undeclared Peanuts and could be allergic to their peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
