US FlagUS/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, issues a public health warning against the consumption of certain batch/lots of Ready Pac Food’s Bistro Grande Southwestern Style Salads with Chicken from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and/or mispackaging and consequential risks of undeclared Anchovy Fish and Wheat, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Salads are subject to this public health alert:

  • Bistro Grande Southwestern Style Salads with Chicken with Salsa Ranch Dressing, sold in 11.75-ounce plastc bowls with a use-by date code of JUN 12 2024, a production time stamp of 08:59, a batch/lot code of 217638176 and an establishment designation of P-27497

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These prepared Salad Kits were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of California and Nevada, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salads identified above.

In this case, this warning was issued after it was reported that Bistro Grande Southwestern Style Salads with Chicken with Salsa Ranch Dressing actually contain another of the company’s Salad products, specifically, Chicken Caesar Salad, a food product that contains Anchovy Fish and Wheat.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these Bistro Grande Southwestern Style Salads with Chicken with Salsa Ranch Dressing products and could be allergic to their Anchovy Fish and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
