AAustralia Flagustralia/Canberra: Romper & Co., a Melbourne, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Romper & Co Children’s Bamboo Pyjama Sets from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s Mandatory Standard For Nightwear for Children and consequential risks of burns, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury and/or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Pyjama products are subject to this recall:

  • Romper & Co Bamboo Pyjama Sets, consisting of two (2)-piece pyjama set made from bamboo cotton material and sold in four (4) colours: blue, white, beige and pink

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Romper & Co Bamboo Pyjama Sets are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Children’s Sleepwear products had wider distribution outside the country, particularly over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

Bamboo Pyjama Sets from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s Mandatory Standard For Nightwear for Children.

Due to this reported defect, parents and other caregivers may not understand the fire hazards associated with these Children’s Sleepwear products and the consequential risks of burns, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Sleepwear products do not have the correct fire hazard label.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Romper & Co. Bamboo Pyjama Sets, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near them. Instead, kindly contact Romper & Co. to arrange a refund and for product disposal instructions.
