Food Recall: Classic Delight & Wakefield Wrapped Sandwiches

US/Silver Spring: Classic Delight LLC, a St. Mary’s, Ohio establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Classic Delight branded, Nutrisystem branded and Wakefield branded Individually Wrapped Sandwiches from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Individually Wrapped Sandwiches are subject to this recall (sorted in alphabetical order):

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Individually Wrapped Sandwiches were known to be marketed, distributed and sold by food service distributors, convenience stores and vending machine outlets in the US states of Arkansas, California, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country including over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Classic Delight LLC has recalled certain batch/lots of Individually Wrapped Sandwiches from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Baked Goods identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after environmental samples tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Classic Delight, Nutrisystem and Wakefield Individually Wrapped Sandwiches, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Baked Goods to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
