Product Recall: Bambino House Newborn Baby Gift Sets

Australia/Canberra: Bambino House, a Springvale, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Bambino House branded Newborn Baby Gift Sets from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for Children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, ingestion,  GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Newborn Baby Gift Sets are subject to this recall:

• Bambino House Newborn Baby Gift Sets, consisting of one (1) Brush, one (1) Crochet Rattle, one (1) Milestone, one (1) Bath Towel, one (1) Bracelet and one (1) Bib

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Bambino House Newborn Baby Gift Sets are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country, particularly over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Bambino House has recalled certain batch/lots of Bambino House Newborn Baby Gift Sets from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for Children up to and including 36 months of age’

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bambino House Newborn Baby Gift Sets, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near them. Instead, kindly contact Bambino House to arrange a refund and for product disposal instructions.
