Vehicle Recall: Kia Soul EV SUVs

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 2,176 model year 2015 to 2019 Kia Soul EV Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain Kia SUVs, there could be a malfunction inside the High-Voltage Battery.

If this defect occurs, the High-Voltage Battery could short circuit while driving.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Kia Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a Authorized Dealership to update the Battery Management System Software.
