Food Recall: Karachi Bakery Gluten Free Cookies

Canada/Ottawa: Sundine Produce Inc., a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Karachi Bakery branded Gluten Free Cookies from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Gluten, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Gluten Free Cookies are subject to this recall:

• Karachi Bakery branded Gluten Free Mixed Nut Cookies, sold in 250 gram packages with a best-before date of Nov 06, 2024 and an UPC of 8 908004 010242
• Karachi Bakery branded Gluten Free Chocolate Cookies, sold in 250 gram packages with a best-before date of Nov 06, 2024 and an UPC of 8 908004 010259

These Gluten Free Cookies were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, New Brunswick and Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Gluten Free Cookies and could be allergic to their Gluten ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
