Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Kaleidoscope Australasia Pty Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Tender Leaf Toys due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Toys for Children up to and including 36 months of age and consequential risks of component detachment with choking, laceration, burns, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Leaves of the Wooden Stacking Tree could be considered “small parts” under the Mandatory Standard for Toys.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, burns, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Tender Leaf Toys, please do not use them nor let your children or pets play with or near them. Instead, kindly remove the Leaves from the Toy immediately and dispose of them. Parents and other caregivers should contact Kaleidoscope to arrange replacement Leaves to be sent to them free of charge. Parents will need to provide Kaleidoscope with evidence that the original Leaves have been disposed of safely.
