UK FlagUK/London: Lidl Great Britain Limited (“Lidl GB”), a London, England establishment and subsidiary of Lidl of Stiftung & Co KG of Neckarsulm, Baden-Wüttenberg, Germany, recalls certain batch/lots of Lidl Tower Gate and McEnnedy American Way Cookies due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to recall:

  • Tower Gate Half Coated Chocolate Chunk Cookies, sold in 200 gram packages with a best-before date of 06 December 2024
  • Tower Gate Half Coated Fruit & Nut Cookies, sold in 200 gram packages with a best-before date of 06 December 2024
  • McEnnedy American Way Nougatelli, sold in 175 gram packages with a best-before date of 10 December 2024
  • Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Triple Chocolate, sold in 210 gram packages with a best-before date of 12 December 2024
  • Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Lemon, sold in 210 gram packages with a best-before date of 13 December 2024
  • Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Lemon, sold in 150 gram packages with a best-before date of 14 December 2024

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - UK Food Standards Agency ("FSA")According to the UK FSA has recalled certain batch/lots of Lidl Tower Gate and McEnnedy American Way Cookies due to suspected metal fragment contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled prepared Baked Goods identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lidl Tower Gate and McEnnedy American Way Cookies, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Baked Goods to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
