UK/London: Biona recalls certain batch/lots of Biona Organic Cashew Nut Butter from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Almond Nuts, Hazelnuts and Peanuts, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Cashew Nut Butter products are subject to recall:

• Biona Organic Cashew Nut Butter, sold in 170 gram jars with a batch/lot code of E233189 and a best-before date of 31 December 2026

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Biona has recalled certain batch/lots of Biona Organic Cashew Nut Butter from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Almonds, Hazelnuts and Peanuts. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Nut Butter products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Biona Organic Cashew Nut Butter products and could be allergic to their Almond, Hazelnut and/or Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Biona Organic Cashew Nut Butters, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Nut Butter to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
