Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 25,603 model year 2023 and 2024 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500 and 4500 Pickup Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.
Specifically, these Pickup Trucks and model years are currently affected by this recall:
- Model year 2023 RAM 1500 Pickup Trucks
- Model year 2023 and 2024 RAM 2500 Pickup Trucks
- Model year 2023 and 2024 RAM 3500 Pickup Trucks
- Model year 2023 and 2024 RAM 4500 Pickup Trucks
On certain RAM Pickup Trucks, a problem with the Steering Control Module could cause a Turn Signal not to turn off or to flash briefly in the opposite direction after making a turn or changing lanes. This defect could also cause the vehicle’s High Beams to illuminate when a Turn Signal is activated, or a Turn Signal to illuminate when the High Beams are turned on.
Turn Signals that stay on or flash in the opposite direction after making a turn or changing lanes could create confusion for other drivers. In addition, High Beams that turn on when a Turn Signal is activated could cause reduced visibility and/or glare for oncoming drivers.
If these defects occur, issues could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
