US FlagUS/Washington: Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc., a Mount Olive, New Jersey establishment, recalls an estimated 11,097 pounds of Busseto Foods Charcuterie Meat Samplers with Prosciutto, Sweet Sopressata and Dry Coppa from the American marketplace and sold at Sam’s Club Distribution Centers due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Charcuterie Meat products are thought to have been produced on or about October 30, 2023 and are subject to this recall:

  • Busseto Foods Charcuterie Meat Samplers with Prosciutto, Sweet Sopressata and Dry Coppa, sold in 18-ounce plastic trays with a batch/lot code of L075330300 and a best-if-used-by code of APR 27 24. The products are sold as a twin pack consisting of two 9-ounce packages.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

These Busseto Foods Charcuterie Meat Sampler Prosciutto, Sweet Sopressata and Dry Coppa, were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from Sam’s Club Distribution Centers in the US states of Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service (“FSIS”) was notified that a sample collected by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture tested positive for Salmonella.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 7543B” inside the USDA mark of inspection and “EST. #47967” printed with the batch/lot and date codes.

As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Charcuterie Meat products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Busseto Foods Charcuterie Meat Samplers with Prosciutto, Sweet Sopressata and Dry Coppa product, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
