Among the ninety-six (96) recalls the NHTSA has announced this December comes news of the following:
Winnebago Towable, Inc. (“Winnebago”), an Eden Prairie, Minnesota establishment, has recalled an estimated 1,313 model year 2021-2023 Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX Travel Trailers marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.
Recall Category: Structure – Bumper Mounted Spare Tire Carrier may detach
According to the NHTSA, a Spare Tire Carrier that fails can detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
Safety Notification 23V891000 reports the Spare Tire Carrier may fail when loaded with a certain Off-Road Style Tire.
According to the NHTSA, a Spare Tire Carrier that fails can detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.
Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Winnebago Dealers will replace the Spare Tire Carrier, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 19, 2024.
Owners may contact Winnebago Customer Service at +1-574-825-5280, extension 5220, during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Central Standard Time (“CST”) for more information. Winnebago’s designation for this recall is CAM0000033.
