These Nutritional Supplement products may have been marketed, distributed and sold in all US states by Amazon.com, although it is always possible these Supplement products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, WS Global, Inc has recalled all current batch/lots of Himalayan Pain Relief Tea Packets from the American marketplace due to suspected undeclared drugs, specifically Diclofenac, an NSAID, and Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume any of the recalled Tea Packets identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after these products were found to contain undeclared drugs, specifically Diclofenac and Dexamethasone:

  • Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (“NSAID”). The use of NSAIDs may cause increased risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, as well as serious gastrointestinal damage, including bleeding, ulceration, and fatal perforation of the stomach and intestines. This hidden drug ingredient may also interact with other medications and significantly increase the risk of adverse events, particularly when consumers use multiple NSAID-containing products.
  • Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid commonly used to treat inflammatory conditions. Corticosteroid use can impair a person’s ability to fight infections and can cause high blood sugar levels, muscle injuries and psychiatric problems. When corticosteroids are taken for a prolonged period, or at high doses, they can suppress the adrenal gland. Only licensed health care professionals can evaluate patients for the risk or existence of adrenal suppression. In addition, the undeclared dexamethasone in Himalayan Pain Relief Tea may cause serious side effects when combined with other medications.

==> For information about Drug contamination, please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

==> Never stop taking your prescription medications without the knowledge and approval of your personal physician or other MD familiar with your medical history, current health status and other drugs, medications and supplements you may be consuming. Failure to do so, may result in a serious drug interaction, side effect, complication, personal injury and/or death.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Himalayan Pain Relief Tea Packets, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Nutritional Supplement to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Diclofenac and/or Dexamethasone poisonings.
