US FlagUS/Silver Spring: New India Bazar, a Milpitas, California establishment, recalls an estimated 2,400 packets of Maggi branded 2-Minute Noodles, 280 gram size, and an estimated 1,200 packets of Maggi branded 2-Minute Noodles, 560 gram size, from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Instant Noodle products are subject to this recall:

  • Maggie 2 Minute Noodles, sold in 280 gram yellow plastic pouches with a batch/lot designation of 31159939CA and 4354M56 and an expiration date of December 2023
  • Maggie 2 Minute Noodles, sold in 560 gram yellow plastic pouches with a batch/lot designation of 31159939CA and 4354M56 and an expiration date of January 2024

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Instant Noodle products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US state of California from the following retail locations:

It is always possible, however,. these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")According to the FDA, New India Bazar has recalled an estimated 3,600 packets of Maggi 2-Minute Noodles from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Instant Noodle products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was discovered that the company’s Maggie 2-Minute Noodles (280 grams and 560 grams sizes) contained Peanuts but were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Peanuts.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Maggie 2-Minute Instant Noodles and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
