Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: CostumeBox Pty Ltd., a Manly, New South Wales, establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Rainbow Neon LED Light Up Tutu Costume Skirts from the Australian marketplace due to the reported failure to provide the required warning information concerning so-called “Button” Batteries and consequential risks of choking, laceration, burns, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Costume Clothing products are subject to this recall:

  • CostumeBox Rainbow Neon LED Light Up Tutu Costume Skirts, consisting of rainbow tulle tutu skirts with LED lights and wiring sold with a barcode/APN of 714718461199

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These CostumeBox Rainbow Neon LED Light Up Tutu Costume Skirts are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Adult Clothing products products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, CostumeBox Pty has recalled certain batch/lots of Rainbow Neon LED Light Up Tutu Costume Skirts from the Australian marketplace due to the reported failure to provide the required warning label concerning so-called Button Batteries.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, burns, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

The ACCC reports that once ingested, Button Batteries can cause severe or fatal injuries within two (2) hours or less.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled CostumeBox Rainbow Neon LED Light Up Tutu Costume Skirts, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near them or any device using these products. Instead, kindly contact CostumeBox for a copy of the missing safety information or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, laceration, burns, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.
