Maxx, a Mascot, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Nest Swing Egg Chairs from the Australian marketplace due to suspected design defects with tip-over hazards with consequential risks of falls, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Furniture products are subject to this recall:

  • T. K. Maxx Nest Swing Egg Chairs, comprised of a metal support tube from which a large egg-shaped chair is suspended, and sold with a T.K. Maxx PLU/Style designation of PMK-6501, PMK-6503, PMK-6505, PMK-6507 or PMK-6510

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These T. K. Maxx Nest Swing Egg Chairs products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Furniture products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Maxx has recalled certain batch/lots of Nest Swing Egg Chairs from the Australian marketplace due to suspected design defects with consequential tip-over hazards. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled Furniture products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Chairs have a design defect and is unstable. If this defect occurs in use-in, the Chairs may collapse or tip over and pose risks of falls, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled T. K. Maxx Nest Swing Egg Chairs, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. Alternatively, you can contact TJX Australia for instructions on how to dismantle and dispose of the Chair to receive a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat falls, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.
