Drug Recall: Nutraceutical Corp. Solaray Multivitamins

US/Washington: Nutraceutical Corporation, a Salt Lake City, Utah establishment, recalls an estimated 85,300 bottles of Solaray Liposomal Women’s Multivitamins, Solaray Universal Multivitamins and Solaray Liposomal Women’s 50+ Multivitamins from the American marketplace due to suspected failure meet child-resistant packaging regulations and violation of US Federal Hazardous Substance Act (FHSA) labeling requirements with consequential risk of drug overdose, ingestion, poisoning and GI tract laceration damage, all serious safety hazards.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports certain Solaray Multivitamins marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

• Solaray Liposomal Women’s Multivitamins, sold in 60-count bottles with a UPC of 076280193251
• Solaray Liposomal Women’s Multivitamins, sold in 120-count bottles with a UPC of 076280339536
• Solaray Universal Multivitamins, sold in 60-count bottles with a UPC of 076280640168
• Solaray Universal Multivitamins, sold in 120-count bottles with a UPC of 076280830385
• Solaray Liposomal Women’s 50+ Multivitamins, sold in 120-count bottles with a UPC of 076280154832

==> No NDCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Multivitamin products contain the element Iron, a substance that must be stored in child resistant packaging as required by the US Poison Prevention Packaging Act (“PPPA”).

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Solaray Liposomal Women’s Multivitamins, Solaray Universal Multivitamins and/or Solaray Liposomal Women’s 50+ Multivitamins, please do not use them.

Instead, kindly store the recalled products in a safe location out of reach of children and contact Nutraceutical Corporation for instructions on how to dispose of the product and receive a full refund or a product replacement with the proper child-resistant packaging. The replaced Multivitamins will be identical to the existing drug product aside from the new lid.

Nutraceutical Corporation and Solaray are said to be contacting all known purchasers directly.
