UK FlagUK/London: Marks & Spencer, a London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Plant Kitchen No Chicken and Chorizo Sandwiches from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following prepared Sandwiches are subject to recall:

  • Plant Kitchen No Chicken and Chorizo Sandwiches, sold in single portion, triangle-cut cello packages with a use by date of 06 September 2023

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - UK Food Standards Agency ("FSA")According to the FSA, Marks & Spencer has recalled certain batch/lots of Plant Kitchen No Chicken and Chorizo Sandwiches from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume any of the recalled Sandwiches identified above.

Please note: while these prepared Sandwich products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products during the time period ranging from August 20, 2023 and September 12, 2023, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled No Chicken and Chorizo Sandwiches and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
