Product Recall: The Children’s Place Baby & Toddler Jeans

US/Bethesda & Canada/Ottawa: The Children’s Place, a Secaucus, New Jersey establishment recalls an estimated total 99,400 Baby and Toddler Boy Basic Stretch Straight Leg Jeans (approximately 97,400 in the US and approximately 1,800 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Baby and Toddler Boy Basic Stretch Straight Leg Jeans sold in sizes 6-9M to 5T, as follows:

• Baby and Toddler Boy Basic Stretch Straight Leg Jeans – Dustbowl Wash, sold with a style wash designation of 3022341 and a vendor number of 7000541
• Baby and Toddler Boy Basic Stretch Straight Leg Jeans – Telford, sold with a style wash designation of 3022342 and a vendor number of 7000541

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Metal Snaps on the Jeans can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use

In this case, this recall was initiated after the firm received one (1) report of Snaps detaching from the Jeans. No injuries have been reported.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Basic Stretch Straight Leg Jeans, please do not dress your child in them nor let them play with or near them.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.
