US FlagUS/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, issues a Public Health Alert for all current batch/lots of Never Any! branded Ready-To-Eat (“RTE”) Ham and Cheese Lunch Kits containing Chocolate Chip Cookies due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Lunch Kits were thought to have been produced on or about dates ranging from June 27, 2023, and July 5, 2023 and are subject to this recall:

  • Never Any! branded Ready-To-Eat (“RTE”) Ham and Cheese Lunch Kits, sold in 2.9-ounce plastic tray packages use-by date code of SEPT 18 2023

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Lunch Kits can be found on the Web site above.

These Never Any! Ham and Cheese Lunch Kits were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - United States Department of Agriculture ("USDA")According to the USDA, it has issued a Public Health Alert for all current batch/lots of Never Any! branded Ready-To-Eat (“RTE”) Ham and Cheese Lunch Kits containing Chocolate Chip Cookies due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Lunch Kits identified above.

In this case, Maple Leaf Foods Inc., the producing establishment was notified by its Chocolate Chip Cookie supplier that the Chocolate Chip Cookies may contain Peanut residue, a known allergen and an ingredient not declared on the product label. Maple Leaf Foods subsequently notified FSIS that its Cookies were used in products distributed in the United States.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Never Any! branded Ready-To-Eat (“RTE”) Ham and Cheese Lunch Kit products and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis. ___________________________________________________________
