Product Recall: Kincrome Hydraulic Vehicle Trolley Jacks

Australia/Canberra: Kincrome Australia Pty. Ltd., a Scoresby, Melbourne, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Hydraulic Lifting Vehicle Trolley Jacks from the Australian marketplace due to reported failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Trolley Jacks and consequential risks of laceration, concussion, bone fracture, crush, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse, central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, concussion or Traumatic Brain Injury (“TBI”), all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Trolley Jacks are subject to this recall:

• Hydraulic Lifting Vehicle Trolley Jacks, sold with the following model number and weight-lifting ratings:
  • Model K12170 with a weight rating of 2250 kg
  • Model P12170ENF with a weight rating of 2250 kg
• With the following batch/lot codes:
  • KGT1020
  • KGT0521
  • KGT0921
  • KGT1021
  • KGJ1222
  • KGJ0722-01
  • KGJ0722-02
  • KGJ0722-03
  • KGJ0722-04
  • KGJ0722-05

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Trolley Jacks were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these work products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Kincrome Australia has recalled certain batch/lots of Hydraulic Lifting Vehicle Trolley Jacks from the Australian marketplace due to reported failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Trolley Jacks. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled hardware products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the required Warning Notice Label does not include the full key warning that the product is to be used on flat, hard, level ground. Due to this defect, there is a risk of a vehicle collapsing on a consumer causing serious injury or death from incorrect product use, due to incomplete warning labelling.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Kincrome Hydraulic Lifting Vehicle Trolley Jacks, please do not use them. Instead, kindly check your Trolley Jacks for the affected batch/lots codes.

Affected consumers should contact Kincrome to arrange to receive a permanent Label that they can affix or return of the Trolley Jack for a replacement.
