AAustralia Flagustralia/Canberra: Tuti Fruti Fun and Learning, a Brisbane, Queensland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of various Children’s Wooden Rattles from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, ingestion,  GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Rattle Toys are subject to this recall:

  • Wooden Cartoon Musical Bell Rattles
  • Natural Beechwood Teether Rattles
  • Wooden Rattles With Coloured Rings
  • Set of Four (4) Montessori Wooden Rattles and Teethers for Babies

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wooden Rattles are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian state of Queensland, although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country, particularly over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Tuti Fruti Fun and Learning has recalled certain batch/lots of various Children’s Wooden Rattles from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Wooden Rattle Toys, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near them. Instead, kindly contact Tuti Fruti Fun and Learning to arrange a full refund for the Toy.
