Among the eighty-nine (89) recalls the NHTSA announced in June comes news of the following:

Logo - Chrysler (FCA US LLC),Chrysler (FCA US LLC), an Auburn Hills, Michigan establishment and a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV of Amsterdam, Netherlands has recalled an estimated 12,458 model year 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) equipped with 2.0L PHEV Engines marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Engine – Engine may shut down

NHTSA Safety Notification 23V412000 reports the Engine may shut down due to a loss of communication between the Transmission Control Module and the Hybrid Control Processor.

Logo - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV,According to the NHTSA, an Engine shut down can result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Chrysler Dealers will update the Vehicle Control Software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-853-1403 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. FCA US, LLC’s designation for this recall is 65A.
