Among the forty-one (41) recalls the NHTSA announced in June comes news of the following:

Logo - Chrysler (FCA US LLC)Chrysler (FCA US LLC), an Auburn Hills, Michigan establishment and a subsidiary of Stellantis NV of Amsterdam, has recalled an estimated 211,581 model year 2022 Dodge Durango Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) and Ram 2500 and 3500 Pickup Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Service Brakes, Air – Disabled Electronic Stability Control in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 126

NHTSA Safety Notification 24V415000 reports due to a Software malfunction, the ABS Control Module may disable the Electronic Stability Control System. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, “Electronic Stability Control Systems”.

Logo - DodgeAccording to the NHTSA, driving with a disabled Electronic Stability Control System can increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Authorized Chrysler (FCA US LLC) Dealers will update the ABS Control Module Software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expecting to be mailed July 26, 2024.
