Vehicle Recall: Honda Fit Sedans & Honda HR-V SUVs

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 23,792 model year 2018 to 2020 Honda Fit Sedans and model year 2019 to 2022 Honda HR-V Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain Honda vehicles, the Battery voltage could drop when starting the engine. If this defect occurs, the vehicle’s Display Audio System may not start. As a result, the rearview image will not appear on the Display Screen when reversing. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing.

Transport Canada reports a Rearview Camera image that does not display could reduce a driver’s ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Honda Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to an Authorized Dealership to update the Display Audio Software.
