US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Aahu Barah USA Inc., a Hicksville, New York establishment, recalls an estimated 19 cases of Aahu Barah branded Apricot Rolls from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Sulfites, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • Aahu Barah Apricot Rolls, sold in 14-ounce, clear plastic bags measuring approximately six (6) inches by eight (8) inches with Aahu Barah labeling, an expiration date of December 2025 and a UPC of 882475000279.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Aahu Barah Apricot Rolls were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Georgia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country including over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Baked Goods identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of Sulfites in the Apricot Roll.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Aahu Barah branded Apricot Rolls and could be allergic to their Sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
