The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports following Beef Jerky are subject to this recall:

  • Lone Star Western Beef Inc. W.V. Original Beef Jerky, one (1)-ounce, three (3)-ounce and 16-ounce packages

According to the USDA, the products were produced on Aug. 12, 2013, and bear the establishment number “EST. 19563” inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. The 16-ounce package can be further identified by the Package Code of “081213”. The products were shipped to a distributor in North Central West Virginia and sold to retail stores.

The USDA says the recalled Beef Jerky poses a consumer hazard because was not processed at the correct temperature to ensure that the ready-to-eat products were safe to eat.
