Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Viande Richelieu Inc.Viande Richelieu Inc., a Massueville, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Viande Richelieu Meat branded Boneless Horse Meat products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected presence of Clenbuterol, a steroid-like chemical initially developed to treat Asthma in horses and consequential risks of heart palpitations, atrial fibrillation or an irregular and often fast heartbeat and problems with blood pressure in humans, all serious health hazards.

Second Nestlé Supplier Selling Horse Meat [Spain]

Switzerland/Vevey: Nestlé stops deliveries from a second food supplier as tests for Horse DNA show positive:

Nestlé Spain says it will no longer use the Spanish food company Servocar in its supply chain after it “became clear that the firm has supplied beef that contains horse DNA”.

Nestle Beef Meal, Meat Recall [France, Italy, Spain]

Switzerland/Vevey: Nestlé recalls some retail Beef Pasta Meals as well as meat sold as catering foodstuffs in France, Italy and Spain after tests confirm presence of Horse DNA:

Nestlé reports enhanced testing revealed the following products have levels of Horse DNA, although they have been sold as 100% Beef products:

  • Buitoni Beef Ravioli meals, sold in Italy and Spain
  • Beef Tortellini meals, sold in Italy and Spain
  • Lasagnes à la Bolognaise Gourmandes, a frozen meat product for catering businesses, produced in France.
