US/Silver Spring: Tuffy’s Pet Foods; Inc., a Perham, Minnesota establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Pure Vita Salmon Entree Dog Food products from the American marketplace due to suspected elevated levels of Vitamin D and consequential risks of vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling and weight loss. When ingested at excessive levels, vitamin D can lead to serious health issues in dogs including renal dysfunction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate veterinarian intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.
