Suunto Tank Transmitters & POD Recall [US & Canada]

Canada FlagUS FlagUS/Washington & Canada/Ottawa: Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter packaged in a black cone-shaped plastic case with “SUUNTO, FINLAND” printed on top of the case and a transparent or black plastic base. The Transmitters measure approximately four (4) cm by eight (8) cm and have reference numbers SS019098000 or SS005397000  Suunto Tank POD packaged in a black cone-shaped plastic case with “SUUNTO TANK POD, MADE IN FINLAND” printed on top of the case and a transparent plastic base. The Transmitters measure approximately four (4) cm in diameter and approximately eight (8) cm in length and have a reference number of SS020306000  Please consult the photograph above for details of the product's packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled products are pictured on the Web site above.  ==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.  According to the CPSC, the exterior plastic case of the Wireless Tank Transmitters and Wireless Tank PODs can burst during pre-dive pressure testing, posing an injury hazard. There have been two (2) incidents of the transmitters bursting during dry land pressure testing, including one (1) report of bruising.    If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Wireless Tank Transmitters and Wireless Tank PODs, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return them to a Suunto dealer or Suunto Authorized Service Center for free inspection and repair.
