The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Nightwear products are subject to this recall:

  • White and grey striped one-piece garment for ages 6-12 months, barcode 2885780612
  • Green and grey striped one-piece garment for ages 6-12 months, barcode 2885800612
  • White and pink striped one-piece garment for ages 6-12 months, barcode 2061990612
  • Cream, pink and yellow coloured pyjamas with short sleeved top and pants for ages 18-24 months, barcode 2733761824
  • Primarily orange coloured pyjamas with short sleeved top and pants for ages 18-24 months, barcode 2734771824

According to the ACCC, the recalled Nightwear do not comply with the mandatory standard for children’s sleepwear and limited daywear, AS/NZS 1249:2003 (as amended by regulation) because the “LOW FIRE DANGER” label on the Nightwear was attached to an inner side seam rather than at the neck where it would have been visible from the outside.

In addition, the packaging of some of the Nightwear obscured the “LOW FIRE DANGER” label, contrary to the requirements of the mandatory standard. Parents or carers may not see the “LOW FIRE DANGER” label and may be unaware of the fire danger rating for these garments.
