Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: The Bomboniere Haus, an Etsy store based in Australia, recalls certain batch/lots of Montessori Wooden Baby Rattle Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Rattle Toys are subject to this recall:

  • The Bomboniere Haus Montessori Wooden Baby Rattle Toys, consisting of wooden rattle toys designed for infants to play with and develop sensory and motor skills.

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wooden Baby Rattle Sets are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states through The Bomboniere Haus on Etsy, although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, The Bomboniere Haus has recalled certain batch/lots of The Bomboniere Haus Montessori Wooden Baby Rattle Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled The Bomboniere Haus Montessori Wooden Baby Rattle Toys, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near the Toys. Instead, kindly arrange return of the Rattle Toy and receive a full refund.
