Health Advisory: EzriCare Artificial Tears

US/Atlanta: The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), an Atlanta, Georgia based health promotion and disease prevention authority, issues a Health Advisory against the use of certain batch/lots of EzriCare Artificial Tears due to suspected multi-state infections with an extensively drug-resistant strain of Verona Integron-mediated Metallo-β-lactamase (“VIM”) and Guiana-Extended Spectrum-β-Lactamase (“GES”)-producing Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa (VIM-GES-CRPA) and consequential risks of bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications including visual impairment and/or blindness, all serious and potential fatal hazards, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.
