According to ACCC, IKEA Pty has recalled certain batch/lots of LETTAN Wall Mirrors from the Australian marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of falls, laceration, traumatic brain injury (“TBI” or “concussion”), bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.

In this case, IKEA has identified that some of the plastic fittings used to attach the Mirror to the wall, appear to be breaking. If this defect occurs, it could lead to the Mirrors unexpectedly falling, and posing risks of serious injury.

As of press time, IKEA has received fifty-five (55) reports of Mirrors falling due to what appear to be breaking wall fittings. Minor property damage and one (1) minor injury have been reported.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled IKEA LETTAN Wall Mirrors, please do not use them. Instead, contact IKEA to order replacement wall fittings, free of charge. You may also return the Mirror to IKEA for refund. A receipt is not required.
