Product Recall: Jordy Giftz Personalised Wooden Rattle Toys

Australia/Canberra: Jordy Giftz recalls certain batch/lots of Jordy Giftz Personalised Wooden Baby Rattle Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Rattle Toys are subject to this recall:

• Jordy Giftz Personalised Wooden Baby Rattle Toys, consisting of three (3) different designs of baby rattles composed of two (2) wood rings mounted within the frame and an attached handle.

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Personalised Wooden Baby Rattle Toys are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Jordy Giftz has recalled certain batch/lots of Jordy Giftz Personalised Wooden Baby Rattle Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Jordy Giftz Personalised Wooden Baby Rattle Toys, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near the Toys. Instead, kindly destroy the Rattle and contact Jordy Giftz to arrange a full refund for the Toy.

Parents and other caregivers should provide a photograph to show the Rattle has been destroyed. If the product has already been disposed of or destroyed, you are kindly asked to notify Jordy Giftz so that the safe disposal of the products can be monitored.
