According to the CPSC, the Temperature Sensor can relay incorrect water temperatures and cause the water to be hotter than the set temperature. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of heat injury including Heat Stroke and thermal burn hazards to those who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

In this case, this recall was initiated when it was discovered that the Temperature Sensor can relay incorrect water temperatures and cause the water to be hotter than the set temperature, posing injury (heat stroke) and thermal burn hazards.

As of December 9, 2022, the company had received 185 reports of inaccurate temperature readings, twenty-six 26 of which were in Canada. The company had received no reports of injuries.
