Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: LaserLuxe, a Brisbane, Queensland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Wooden Baby Rattle Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Rattle Toys are subject to this recall:

  • LaserLuxe Wooden Baby Rattle Toys, consisting of a baby rattles made of wood with rings held by a “dumbbell” structure

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wooden Dumbbell Rattles are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states through the LaserLuxe on Etsy Store, although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the company for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, LaserLuxe has recalled certain batch/lots of Wooden Wooden Rattle Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled LaserLuxe Wooden Rattle Toys, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near the Toys. Instead, kindly destroy the Rattle and contact LaserLuxe to arrange a full refund for the Toy.

Parents and other caregivers should provide a photograph to show the Rattle has been destroyed. If the product has already been disposed of or destroyed, you are kindly asked to notify LaserLuxe so that the safe disposal of the products can be monitored.
