Among the thirty-seven (37) recalls the European Union announced in its third report of December 2022, the following recall notification was made:

Polux branded Lampka Nocna LED Polux Jabluszko Night Lights

Polux branded Lampka Nocna LED Polux Jabluszko Night Lights sold with a model number of 835, a batch/lot designation of INDEX 310101 SE1802WD-1 and a barcode/EAN of 5901508310101. This recall alert was submitted by Germany to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/01777/22.

These Polux branded LED Night Lights were marketed, sold and delivered as apple-shaped night lights with three (3) different colored LEDs with a cover of opaque white plastic and the ON/OFF switch on the casing. Each of the recalled Night Lights is rated at 110 to 230 volts, draws an estimated 0.4 watts at 50/60 Hz and produces approximately eight (8) lumens of brightness.

No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazards reported in the recalled Polux branded LED Night Lights include the report that the product’s Cover can be easily removed, making live electrical parts accessible. As a consequence, operators of the recalled Night Lights could touch these exposed parts and receive an electric shock.

As a consequence, utilizing the recalled Polux branded LED Night Lights products in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use could precipitate serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled the recalled Polux branded LED Night Lights reportedly do not comply with the requirements of Europe’s Low Voltage Directive nor with the European standards EN 60598-1 or EN 60598-2-12.

Consequently, a recall of the Polux branded LED Night Lights from end users has been issued for the European marketplace. You should not market, sell or use the recalled night lights.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Polux branded LED Night Lights, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact the store from which you purchased the product for return instructions.

If you have a medical emergency, please contact 1-1-2, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat burns, electrical shock, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse.

Please note: 1-1-2 (also written as “112”) is the universal European emergency number you can dial free of charge from fixed and mobile phones anywhere in the EU. It will connect you to the local emergency services including police, ambulance, fire brigade. National emergency numbers are still in use too, alongside 1-1-2. but 1-1-2 is the only number you can use to access the emergency services in all EU countries.
