US/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, warns against consuming certain batch/lots of Ground Beef sold at La Michoacana Meat Market in Greenville, Texas, due to suspected Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O157:H7 contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.
A formal recall was not ordered because the USDA believes that none of the subject Ground Beef products remain available for retail sale to consumers. These Beef products, however, may have been already purchased and stored in your homes so a careful check of any meat purchased should be made if there is a possibility of contamination.
