Product Recall: Walmart & Amazon Army Action Figure Toys

Canada/Ottawa: Amazon.ca, a subsidiary of Seattle, Washington-based Amazon.com, and Walmart.ca, a Mississauga, Ontario establishment, recall certain batch/lots of Juvo Plus Army Action Figure Toys Sets from the Canadian marketplace due to excessive levels of Lead and Phthalates (“DEHP”) and consequential risks to children of damage to the brain and nervous system, slowed growth and development, learning and behavior problems, hearing and speech problems, lower IQ, decreased ability to pay attention and underperformance in school. In adults, Lead poisoning can cause high blood pressure, joint and muscle pain, difficulties with memory or concentration, headache, abdominal pain, mood disorders, reduced sperm count and abnormal sperm, miscarriage, stillbirth and/or premature birth in pregnant women, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Toys Sets are subject to this recall:

• Juvo Plus Army Action Figure Toys sold at
• Amazon & Walmart, consisting of 300-piece Army Action Figure Set that includes Tanks, Planes, Flags, Battlefield Tools and Landscaping, and 8 – 3.5-inch action figures with flexible joints. The item was sold online at Amazon.ca, and Walmart.ca, in clear packaging with no identifier as depicted in the picture above.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Army Action Figure Toys Sets can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Juvo Plus Army Action Figure Toys Sets may have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Canadian provinces, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to Health Canada, Amazon.ca, a subsidiary of Seattle, Washington-based Amazon.com, and Walmart.ca, a Mississauga, Ontario establishment,  have recalled certain batch/lots of Juvo Plus Army Action Figure Toys Sets from the Canadian marketplace due to excessive levels of Lead and Phthalates (“DEHP”).

Please note: disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. Please consult your local municipal waste authority for the correct steps for your particular community.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Juvo Plus Army Action Figure Toys Sets, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
