UK FlagUK/London: Asda Stores Ltd., a Huddersfield, West Yorkshire establishment and a subsidiary of the EG Group of Waterside, Blackburn and TDR Capital of London, England, recall all current batch/lots of Asda branded Plant Based Lemon Cheesecake from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Hazelnuts and Walnuts, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to recall:

  • Asda Plant Based Lemon Cheesecake, sold in packages of two (2) – 100 gram loaves

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification

According to the FSA, Asda Stores has recalled all current batch/lots of Asda branded Plant Based Lemon Cheesecake from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Hazelnuts and Walnuts

==> For information about Nut Allergy (including Peanuts and Tree Nuts such as Hazelnut and  Walnuts), please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab at the top of this page.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Asda Plant Based Lemon Cheesecake products, and could be allergic to their Hazelnut and/or Walnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
