EcoFlow branded River 600 MAX Portable Power Stations sold with a model designation of EF4 and an EAN/barcode of 4897082662976. This recall alert was submitted by Finland to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/01291/22.

These EcoFlow branded River 600 MAX Portable Power Stations were marketed, sold and delivered as consumer-grade portable power appliances with battery, AC input, AC socket output and multiple DC outputs and USB plugs. The product can be used as an Uninterrupted Power Source (“UPS”) and was sold in a printed cardboard box.

The EcoFlow branded River 600 MAX Portable Power Stations were rated at 600 watts and feature a number of AC and DC outlets to supply stand-by power in the event of power interruption.

No manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazards reported in the recalled EcoFlow branded River 600 MAX Portable Power Stations include the report that the electrical insulation as well as the clearance / creepage distances between the primary and accessible secondary circuits are not sufficient under EU safety regulations. In addition, the input protective earth (i.e. “ground”) is not connected to output protective earth, hence continuity of protective earth does not occur. This means an operator of the device could suffer burns, electric shock, electrocution, respiratory impairment and/or cardiac arrest after coming into contact with live electrical parts.

As a consequence, utilizing the recalled EcoFlow branded River 600 MAX Portable Power Stations in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use could precipitate serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.
