Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd., a Mascot, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Westinghouse Black Tempered Glass Gas Cooktop Appliances from the Australian marketplace due to suspected glass fracture hazard with consequential risks of lacerations, burns, fire, eye damage, digit amputation and peripheral nerve damage, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Gas Kitchen Appliances are subject to this recall:

  • Westinghouse branded Black Glass Gas Cooktop Appliances, consisting of 60 cm 3-burner cooktops and sold with a model number of WHG638BC, a PNC designation of 943254149, serial numbers ranging from 95301134 to 22503805, an electrical approval number of OTR190461 and an Australian Gas Association Gas Certification and Testing registration of AGA 8145G
  • Westinghouse branded Black Glass Gas Cooktop Appliances, consisting of 90 cm 5-burner cooktops and sold with a model number of WHG958BC, a PNC designation of 943254153, serial numbers ranging from 95301134 to 22503805, an electrical approval number of OTR190461 and an Australian Gas Association Gas Certification and Testing registration of AGA 8145G

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - Electrolux Home ProductsThese Gas Kitchen Appliances were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these kitchen appliance products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Electrolux Home Products Pty has recalled certain batch/lots of Westinghouse Black Tempered Glass Gas Cooktop Appliances from the Australian marketplace due to suspected glass fracture hazard. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled Gas Kitchen Appliances identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Gas Kitchen Appliances, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Electrolux to arrange for a refund or to have a service technician to attend our home free of charge to replace the product.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat lacerations, burns, eye damage, digit amputation and/or peripheral nerve damage.
