Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Visionary Blind, a Melbourne, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Roller Blinds with Cord/Bead Chains from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory safety standard for the installation of Corded Internal Window Coverings and consequential risk do choking, oral injury, respiratory obstruction and cardiac failure, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Window Covering products are subject to this recall:

  • Visionary Blinds installed Roller Blinds with Cord/Bead Chains

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Window Covering products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian region of Victoria, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Visionary Blind has recalled certain batch/lots of Roller Blinds with Cord/Bead Chains from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory safety standard for the installation of Corded Internal Window Coverings and consequential risk do choking, oral injury, respiratory obstruction and cardiac failure. As a result of these reported defects and associated risks, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Roller Blind products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Visionary Blinds Roller Blinds with Cord/Bead Chains, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Visionary Blinds to make arrangements for either:

  1. Copies of the correct warning and installation labels to be sent to them for attachment to the blinds, or
  2. A Visionary Blinds technician to come and re affix the warning and installation labels

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, respiratory obstruction and/or cardiac failure
