US FlagUS/Washington: Home Run Inn Frozen Foods, a Woodridge, Illinois establishment, recalls an estimated 13,099 pounds of Home Run Inn branded Chicago’s Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza Frozen Meat Pizza products from the American marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Frozen Meat Pizza Products are subject to this recall:

  • Home Run Inn Chicago’s Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza, with a best-by date of 12/03/22

==> No UPCs, barcodes, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Frozen Meat Pizza products can be found on the Web site above.

These Chicago’s Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US of Illinois and then further distributed to retailers, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific Frozen Meat Pizza information.

Logo - United States Department of Agriculture ("USDA") According to the USDA, Home Run Inn Frozen Foods has recalled an estimated 13,099 pounds of Home Run Inn branded Chicago’s Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza Frozen Meat Pizza products from the American marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Frozen Meat Pizzas identified above.

In general, if metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chicago’s Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Frozen Pizza to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis.
